DOCTORAL MILESTONE · OCT 2026

Starting my MSCA PhD at Karolinska Institutet

A new chapter in medical AI and breast cancer research.

I have joined the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet as a doctoral researcher in the HER-CARE MSCA Doctoral Network (DC09).

My doctoral work explores AI-driven personalized breast cancer screening, using mammography and breast MRI to investigate future cancer risk.

Sharing the path to Erasmus Mundus and Marie Curie opportunities

Bringing an international academic journey back to the student community at UIU.

I took part in “Road to Erasmus Mundus and Marie Curie Scholarships” at United International University, sharing my experience of international study and research with students exploring their next academic step.

The event connected my journey through an Erasmus Mundus joint master’s and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions doctoral research with a wider conversation about opportunities in Europe.

A chance to exchange experiences, encourage students to explore international pathways, and stay connected with the university community where my academic journey began.

GRADUATION · DEC 2025

Celebrating my BIM master’s at Sorbonne

An academic milestone at the intersection of computation and biology.

The graduation ceremony at Sorbonne University marked the completion of my master’s in Bioinformatics and Modeling (BIM), a chapter that deepened my focus on computational approaches to biological questions.

My thesis at Institut Curie, in collaboration with Sanofi, explored spatial transcriptomics and fibroblast-associated T-cell exclusion in lung cancer. The work received the Best Thesis Award.

A moment to celebrate the learning, research, and collaborations behind the degree, and to carry those experiences into the next stage of my research journey.

GRADUATION · SEP 2024

Celebrating the completion of my MAIA journey

One joint master’s, three countries, and a shared focus on medical imaging.

The graduation ceremony marked the completion of my Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in Medical Imaging & Applications (MAIA), following study across France, Italy, and Spain.

Training at the University of Burgundy, the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, and the University of Girona brought together medical image analysis and machine learning, culminating in my computational pathology thesis at CNRS.

A milestone celebrating an international learning experience and the foundation it provided for my subsequent research in biomedical AI.

SUMMER SCHOOL & POSTER PRESENTATION · SEP 2023

Learning and sharing at the EXCITE Summer School

An international meeting point for biomedical imaging and research exchange.

I participated in the 17th EXCITE Summer School on Biomedical Imaging at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, connecting my master’s training with a wider community of imaging researchers.

In the poster session, I presented my project on breast mass detection from mammograms using machine learning, developed at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio.

The summer school was an opportunity to broaden my perspective on biomedical imaging, discuss research approaches, and exchange ideas with participants from different academic backgrounds.

Connecting with the Erasmus Mundus community

Taking part in the EMA General Assembly.

I attended the General Assembly of the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA), joining a community of students and alumni connected by international education.

Alongside my MAIA studies, the assembly offered an opportunity to exchange experiences with fellow Erasmus Mundus participants and engage with the wider alumni network.

A NEW BEGINNING · SEP 2022

Beginning my Erasmus Mundus journey

A new chapter in Europe, with medical imaging at its heart.

In 2022, I began the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in Medical Imaging & Applications (MAIA), supported by an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.

The programme opened a path to study across the University of Burgundy, the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, and the University of Girona, bringing together training in medical imaging and computational methods.

This photo marks the beginning of that international learning experience: meeting new people and taking the first steps toward the research journey that followed.
